Leela
Acharya
keeps reinventing
herself... She brings global education, community organizing and
social justice activism to the high school as a teacher and guidance
counsellor who adores working with teens.
Farzana
Doctor
is a
writer, social worker and educator. She has been active in Toronto’s
South Asian queer communities for many years. She is the author of
Stealing Nasreen (Inanna,
2007), one of the few novels out there that has a South Asian queer
woman character! She’s currently working on her second novel. Visit

Anju Gogia has been active in Toronto's bookselling and
publishing community for 12 years. A former manager of the Toronto
Women's Bookstore, she is currently the Editorial Coordinator of
Between the Lines Publisher. She is a past board member of Desh
Pardesh, and a current board member of the Turtle Gals Performance
Ensemble.
Deena
Ladd has been working to improve the workplace conditions of
immigrant and racialized workers for the past 17 years. She has
worked with unions and community based organizations to build the
leadership and involvement of workers of colour. She has been active
in the anti-racist, women's and immigrant rights movement. Deena has
also been involved in a number of organizations within the South
Asian community such as Desh Pardesh, the South Asian Worker's Forum
and the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians. Currently, she is
the co-ordinator of the Workers' Action Centre in Toronto.
Arif
Noorani is a producer with CBC Radio on The Current and Q, the
national arts and culture show. His short videos have shown at
festivals around the world and he has been a programmer with
numerous festivals including Inside Out and Desh Pardesh.
Amina
Ally has been a teacher with the Toronto District School Board
for The last three years. She is currently pursuing further education
in the fine arts.
